01
Scope
This policy applies to the HappyOS HappyOS iOS app. The current iOS version does not require creating an account and does not offer multi-device cloud sync.
02
Data saved on your device by default
The following content you create in the app is stored on your current device by default:
- Good Moments, Private Worries, short practice records and drafts;
- 71-day course answers, learning results, and progress;
- Answers and progress for book courses and the 14 Days of Workplace Boundaries course;
- Conversations with Xiaoman and on-device interaction records used to restore editing, review, and export.
This content will not be automatically uploaded just because you complete a regular entry, short practice, or book course.
03
What AI Review sends
When you actively tap to generate today's review or a stage review for the 71-day course, HappyOS sends the course content needed for generation to the server, where DeepSeek processes it. This may include:
- That day's course answers and knowledge question results;
- Up to 20 answers from previously completed course days;
- The course starting point information filled in on Day 0.
When you actively generate today's AI summary for "14 Days of Workplace Boundaries," only the awareness answers and knowledge question results submitted today are sent; unsubmitted drafts, answers from other days, and fictional examples in the course package are not sent.
When a member actively sends a message to Xiaoman, that message and the recent Xiaoman conversation are sent to DeepSeek. "Let Xiaoman reference my records" is on by default for new users, but no other records are analyzed or sent until you send your first message and agree to data processing. Once it's on and you've agreed, Xiaoman may send, in batches as needed, the submitted questions and answers from the 71-day course, book courses, and Workplace Boundaries course saved on this device, as well as things you've said to Xiaoman, to generate brief analyses that can be recalculated. A few Good Moments and worries may also be included in that conversation request. After you turn the switch off, this cross-module material is no longer sent. Existing users' saved switch choices won't be changed.
Analysis results are cached on this device; your original records stay on this device and are not replaced by summaries. Chat requests include only relevant brief conclusions and a few source excerpts, not your full answer history every time. Requests don't include drafts, skipped answers, advertising identifiers, or stable device IDs. On-device source IDs in analysis requests are used only to verify which original text a conclusion refers to.
When processing requests, the server briefly uses the connection IP for anti-abuse rate limiting. It only uses a keyed digest in running memory, does not store the original IP, and does not send user IPs to DeepSeek.
04
Anonymous product statistics and feedback
To understand which modules are useful and improve first-time use and the purchase flow, the app sends a random device identifier and product interaction events without content, such as pages, modules, course IDs, lesson numbers, subscription plans, and action results. The random identifier is used only for activity and retention statistics within HappyOS. It is not an advertising identifier and is not used for cross-app or cross-website tracking.
Good Moments, worries, course answers, practice drafts, and Xiaoman chat text are not included in statistics. Only when you actively submit written feedback will the feedback text and any contact information you optionally provide be sent to HappyOS's servers.
05
What we don't do
- We don't show ads or use data for cross-app or cross-website tracking;
- We don't use advertising identifiers to recognize you;
- We don't integrate third-party analytics SDKs that track user behavior, nor third-party advertising or cross-product tracking SDKs;
- We don't sell your personal data.
06
Reminders and system permissions
If you turn on reminders for courses, Good Moments, or Xiaoman's proactive care, the app will request notification permission. Course and Good Moments reminders are scheduled on your device at the times you set. Xiaoman's proactive care, only after you turn it on, checks whether a later greeting is appropriate after every 10 new user messages, choosing a time between 10 minutes and 1 day later. If fewer than 10 messages have been sent, no care is evaluated or newly scheduled; if it's not appropriate, no notification is scheduled. When appropriate, only one pending greeting is kept on the device, sent at most once per day, and you don't need to set a time. Tapping the notification opens the Xiaoman conversation and shows this greeting. Notifications may appear on the lock screen, so they never copy your exact chat text or course answers. You can turn off reminders anytime in the app settings or iOS system settings.
07
Export, sharing, and deletion
Exporting and sharing happen only when you take action. In the app's "Me → Data & Privacy," you can export a backup, share content, or clear on-device data. Uninstalling the app also removes the data the app saved on your current device; files you previously exported elsewhere are not affected.
Inputs already sent to DeepSeek are handled under DeepSeek's policies. To exercise data rights related to their processing, please refer to the contact details and applicable procedures in the DeepSeek privacy policy above.
08
Health and Safety Notice
HappyOS is for everyday journaling, practice, and self-understanding. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency assistance. If you're in immediate danger or experiencing serious physical or mental distress, please stop using the regular course flow and contact local emergency services, professional support, or someone you trust.
09
Policy updates and contact us
If how we handle data changes materially, we'll update the effective date on this page and, where necessary, let you know through an in-app notice. To contact the developer, use the "App Support" link on the App Store product page.
